Are you awake?

I am amazed at the advances in CGI and holograms. They say you can’t be in two places at once but they are so wrong! The new technology can make a new you a thousand miles away from where you are right now. No blimps, no green screens, no pixilation, there’s no way to detect that it isn’t real! It’s a good idea not to tick off a programmer; you might find yourself robbing a bank while you’re taking a bath!

The old saying “believes half of what you see and none of what you hear is so true now.”

Do we know if the government officials we are seeing are real or fake? Is the dog barking the loudest the guilty one? Is what we hear on the news true or is it a cover-up for the lies that the government is feeding us? The answers can’t be found on the local T.V. channels, you have to search high and low to dig beneath the tons of BS that they are feeding us.

Today’s sanity isn’t sane at all, right is wrong, and wrong is right according to those who want to put us in our place. If you have any morals or believe in God then you are an enemy of the government even though many of them would say it isn’t true. Actions speak louder than words. You are not moving forward they say, I have no desire to go off the deep end, I’m allergic to cliffs!

I want to go home, but…

I listen to a preacher who gets excited talking about the coming of the lord and I feel sad. It’s not that I don’t want to leave the worries of this life but I have loved ones that aren’t saved. They won’t even talk to me about God. The thoughts of them not being in heaven are almost more than my heart can bare. I don’t want them in heaven for me, I want them there for themselves! The thought of them being in hell for eternity is more than my heart can take.

I am a nurturer by nature, I want to take care of everyone and make everything alright. There have been times I have given when I didn’t have enough for myself. I can’t stand to see others in pain in any form. Perhaps I am too emotional but that is how I am. Even my enemies are included in my prayers. I don’t care what they did, I can’t hate them enough to wish hell on them!

When I pray it always ends in tears, uncontrollable at times. I can’t fix some things like a soul but I can keep praying and I will!

Why I don’t fear God.

I was raised in a strict pentecostal church. Almost everything was a sin. I did not understand why God wanted life to be miserable for his people. I tried to be saved, but the rules were more than I could deal with. I wasn’t happy to have God in my life because I felt like I was in a cage and being poked with sticks no matter what I did. I knew there was something wrong!

I couldn’t adhere to the rules but I still felt God close to me. I still loved him but felt like a failure. Then I met God on more realistic terms. I’m not saying everything is ok to do, it isn’t, but God’s interest in you is a one on one relationship, not your clothing, makeup, or hair. Things in the new testament are not rigid like it was in the old testament. People couldn’t have a one on one relationship in the old testament, only a select few could be in his presence one on one.

When I was a little girl, I never feared God even though preachers had made it sound like any little sin was going to anger God. That I was dirty no matter how hard I tried to live right, my deeds were never going to make God happy. Well, my deeds never would be enough but his sacrifice paid for my righteousness once I asked Him into my life.

Until recently I couldn’t understand fearing God, then I realized it was fear of not knowing God. With all this talk of a new world order, the awful child abuse being exposed, a one-world money that is in the process of knocking on our door, and the politicians who are dirtier than dirt itself. Their complete control of our world is growing in leaps and bounds. Facing the filthy truth of the condition of my world without God scares me and it should. He is the only one that can hold my hand as I stumble through this dysfunctional world.

What if you’re wrong?

Most of us strive to give our children the best we can. We kiss their boo boo’s and brag about their masterpieces. We teach them right from wrong and hope they grow into a tribute to humanity. We make sure all their needs are met, or do we?

Inside each of us an innate belief that there is more to life than just here today and gone tomorrow. That we just return to the earth and that is the end. We all put off thinking of death. It seems centries down the road. Our time here goes so quickly and if nature prevails we will leave our children behind. When you’re gone who will they lean on?

I know good people who refuse to believe in God. “This life is all there is,” they say. There are no miracles, and God is a fairy tale that has been handed down through the generations. Yet, when tragedy hits, God is the first name they cry out. This is the only time some children hear God’s name mentioned in their home.

Nature isn’t always dependable. Occasionally children greet death before parents. What if there is a God? What if there is an eternity? What if there is a judgment day? I hear people say, “God wouldn’t harshly judge a good person”. Would you open your home to a stranger? That’s what we are until we come to Jesus. When we spend time learning, talking, and honoring him, that’s a relationship. He knows us and we know him, we become part of his family tree.

My family is my greatest treasure. Preparing them for their future is always the right thing to do. I would rather be wrong here on earth than in the hereafter!

Why is praise so important to some?

There is none of us who don’t appreciate a thank you or a job well done. Most of us smile when we’re acknowledged but then soon forget about it, the good deed wasn’t done for a thank you, we’re just happy to help.

But, what makes some crave praise? Perhaps it’s the release of endorphins to the brain, that feel-good high. Could it be that there is more to it than endorphins? Maybe it’s something embedded in our souls?

When Adam and Eve sinned and were cast of the garden, Satan became the ruler of the earth. No matter what color your skin is or what language you speak, we are Adam and Eve’s descendants. We don’t have to be taught to want what we want, and we will find a way to get it! Children don’t need instructions to take toys from their friends, they want them and they take them. Praise takes work to get, it’s never free, something must be done for praise to be administered.

Praise is praise whether it’s for doing good or sometimes evil. Some people idolize murders, activists, politicians, doctors, lawyers and the list goes on. Who we praise depends on who we want to be like. Our heroes vary from person to person.

There is one person who is due all praise, Jesus Christ! Why is it so hard for people to give him praise? We don’t have a hard time lifting our voices to the musicians on the stage or the hero in our minds. But giving Jesus praise for all he has done for us seems so hard. A small whisper of his name, if he is lucky. We can’t seem to find time to lift our hands and exalt him but we can go out of our way to lift them when our team is winning as we shout their name.

Jesus didn’t die just so we would give him praise, he died so we could sit and talk with him, share our needs and desires. Like everyone else, Jesus smiles when we praise him for being himself. Full of mercy, forgiveness, love, and salvation. A day is soon coming when every hand shall be lifted to him. Either in praise or fear because judgment will come to all. The only two things you can never escape are death and taxes.

If God knows everything, why?

We’ve all been taught as children that God knows everything we’re going to do even before we do it. What if we do bad things he is going to be angry with us and may smack us down out of anger. The question has been asked if God knows everything why did he let this bad thing happen to my loved one or me? The truth is, in the beginning before you were born he knew everything he wanted for your life. He had a perfect plan all laid out. Each step was like a map for you to follow. But as you grew older and begin to make your own choices, you either followed his plan by following the teachings of the bible or you made your plan. If you decided to make your plan according to the nature of man, you altered his plan. He gave you free will and often our will isn’t his will. God is not filled with anger when he doesn’t get what he wants and what he wants is you to come to him as an heir of all he has. He chose to give us free choice, he didn’t want a heaven full of robots who have no feelings of love. It is love that makes us choose him all over the world. It is love that creates a relationship. God would rather be able to say, welcome my child when we stand before him but he isn’t going to beat us into submission. He gives you two choices, a relationship with him or with his enemy and only you can make that choice.

You know how it was when you told a child to do or not to do something. Sometimes they followed the instruction and sometimes they didn’t. When they didn’t there were consequences for the choice they made. Sometimes the consequence was so bad that no matter how much you love them you couldn’t stop the cycle it set off in their lives because they refused to take your instructions. In the realm of life, every action has a reaction. Often our choices have hurt others without us meaning to harm anyone. Because of our free will, God has to wait to see what steps we take. It’s like a person who says I am going to do this but does something unexpected. He can see how this is going to end from the point you are at in your life at the moment. He can also see how it will end if you make changes in the other direction. But he will never force you to go in either direction. Like a good parent, he will try to reach out to you but whether or not you take his hand is your choice.

God knew Abraham loved him and trusted him. He also knew that Abraham and Sarah had waited a lifetime for Isac to be born. So to see how trustworthy and faithful Abraham was, God told him to offer Isac as a sacrifice. Up until the moment that Abraham lifted the knife to kill his only child that he had waited for his whole life did God have his answer. Up until that moment, Abraham could have changed his mind; he could have let emotions take over. But once God saw his intentions the bible says “for now I know you fear God” and God had an angel step in and stop Abraham. He also sent a ram to replace Isac as a sacrifice.

Genesis 22:1-12

New King James Version (NKJV)

Abraham’s Faith Confirmed

22 Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!”

And he said, “Here I am.”

2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

3 So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. 4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off. 5 And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad[a] and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”

6 So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son, and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife and the two of them went together. 7 But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, “My father!

And he said, “Here I am, my son.”

Then he said, “Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”

8 And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together.

9 Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. 10 And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

11 But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!”

So he said, “Here I am.”

12 And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

One thing that is often misleading is the illusion that if you’re a Christian nothing bad will ever happen to you. If you were the only person on the earth this would be true but you’re not. Just as you serve God, some do not. Evil is all around us and some are ruled by it. The bible says it rains on the just and unjust.

Matthew 5:45

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

The difference is that you have God to help you walk through the valleys and a sinner is on his own with no guidance. Wandering lost among life’s thorns and wild beast.

The broken vessel.

God I can’t come to you till I get cleaned up….
And God replied…..
Perfection I cannot use, they see no need for me.
The broken lay pride aside and come humbly.
Perfection seeks its own glory, its own praise.
The broken seeks me, following my ways.
I desire a relationship with you above all else.
For this reason I became the lamb, sacrificing myself.
You, not the perfect are my greatest pleasure.

Why does dressing modestly matter?

Most parents shield their children from the evil in the world.  They surround them with people they know are safe. They give their children the best they can, so they fit in. What eludes us is the fact that we won’t be there when they get older. We can’t choose their friends or where they go.

So, what does this have to do with modest dressing?  The bible is a security Blanket even When we don’t see it that way. Hormones Are controlling,  in both male and females. When the eyes see long slender legs, a low neck top, thigh high dress or shorts and sparkling eyes two things happen,  lust kicks in and adrenaline rushes to the brain.

That mini skirt or short shorts has just caused someone to commit adultery in their heart and made the young lady a target for the emotionally charged viewer. A modest dressed young lady can be beautiful with less chance of harm. It’s like two young ladies walking side by side. One is counting hundred dollar bills the other is counting one-dollar bills. Who will draw the most attention?

By T. K Rittenhouse

Precious little hands lifted to God as the Pastor prays for the child’s healing.  Holding onto a wastebasket while throwing up and still claiming their healing. Putting every ounce of faith they can into believing that they are healed.

Innocent lips, warning the world that they better be good so the devil doesn’t get them.  Whispering softly as they say their nightly prayer. All is good with the world, or is it?

Science is a good thing and has brought many wonderful creations to us. But it is also a source of doubt for the young. It is as though science is above even God. Science has tried to disprove God’s existence repeatedly. It analyzes him to death and argue every detail of the Bible.  They make statements that is logical to the human mind. What most people forget is God isn’t human and his ways are not ours. What we think is intelligent, he will make a fool of in the end. However, the world throws just enough science to make a young person’s mind to wonder if science is right.

The closest thing to facing the death of a child that I can imagine is having one suddenly announce that they no longer believe that God exist. Now, due to science, they believe there is no life after death, no need to fear hell. So what is a parent to do in a situation like this? There is only one answer to the above question. Trust in God’s word.

All those years of taking a child to church weren’t for nothing. Even if they slept through the service, their conscious retained what was intended by the Lord.

Proverbs 22:6New King James Version (NKJV)

Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Did you teach your child about God? Then you did your part, now stand back and let God do his part. It may take a while to see this happen. I was forty one when I came back to God. But when I did, I came back stronger than ever and more determined to serve him with all my heart.

Psalm 37

3Trust in the Lord, and do good;

Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

4 Delight yourself also in the Lord,

And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Your child may shout from the mountain tops that he doesn’t believe, but their Spirit knows the truth. Our war isn’t with man, but with the powers of evil that uses man to confuse and attempt to destroy our faith in God. The one thing man can’t destroy is wisdom, pray for Godly wisdom for your children, pray blessings on their lives, and protection for their mind and Spirit. Remain faithful and as he says in the above scriptures, your child will remember who holds the keys to life and death, and with wisdom, they will make the right choice.

What if?

Do you think that any young mother ever thought that the child she carried would ever be a worldwide life-changer? The only mother that knew what their child would grow up to be was Mary. I’m not even sure she knew the exact details, perhaps had she known, it would be more than her heart could stand. She only knew that the child she carried was the Messiah that the world had waited for.

That child that you carry is a gift from God. For now, it’s a gift only to you and your family. What if that child you carry will be the one to find the cure for Pulmonary fibrosis, cancer, COPD, blindness, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and many more diseases. That bundle of flesh that many say isn’t even a child, it could be the next president, a biblical prophecy brought to life. The creator of something so spectacular that man cannot even imagine today, something to bring starvation, homelessness, even hatred to an end.

There is always a possibility of this, only if you choose life for that unexpected child. That child might cramp your lifestyle for a bit. What genius lies within a child can only be seen where there is life. Think hard and long on this, every life matters, even those you can’t see yet.
